Small-Bore Rifle shooting (Prone)

Small-bore Rifle shooting is a precision sport, which can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Men and Women compete together on equal terms.

This discipline is carried out using single shot .22 calibre rifles, specially designed for target shooting. Firing takes place from the Prone (lying down) position. No telescopic sights are allowed, except in certain special competitions.

Although it can be shot at 20 yards or even 15 yards in some clubs, at Yealmpton, prone small-bore shooting is carried out on our 25 yard indoor range, which has 4 firing points.

At 25 yards, one scoring shot is to be fired on each of the ten diagrams on the 2510BM target.

 

 

The members also travel to Budleigh Farm TSC at Moretonhamstead or to Bisley to shoot outdoors at 50 metres and 100 yards on the targets below:
